Twitter has announced that anyone can now apply to receive the little blue tick next to his or her name. Twitter stated “an account may be verified if it is determined to be of public interest.” Verified accounts are typically the preserve of brands, public figures and artists. The change means that more people – particularly up-and-coming creators and influencers now have the chance to verify their profiles.
